Technical Requirements
To best view this site, the following is recommended:
Hardware:
- Intel Pentium 4 Processor or Equivalent, 2GHz and higher
- 512MB RAM
- Sound card for audio output
- Video hardware capable of an 800x600 resolution or higher
Software:
- Operating system such as Windows XP (or newer) or Mac OS X (or newer)
- Site is optimized for Internet Explorer 6.0 (or newer), and Safari
- Flash player browser plug-in (9.0 or higher) Free Download
- Java Runtime Environment (1.4 or higher)
Internet Connection:
- Broadband connection of 256kbps or higher
Navigating this Site
This site contains five modules:
- New Horizon for School Breakfast
- Rainbow of Seasonal Choices
- Shining Ideas from the Kitchen
- Fresh Look at Promotions and Merchandising
- A New Light on Nutrition Education
Each of these modules is accessed by clicking the corresponding image at the beginning of the program.
While in a module, you can move throughout the module by clicking 
or 
located in the lower right corner or using the Module Menu in the upper right.
- and enable you to move forward or backward one menu item at a time.
- The Module Menu allows you to select a specific screen to go to. Open the menu by clicking Module Menu. Select a screen by moving your mouse over the screen title you want to view and clicking. The Module Menu will automatically close and you will be directed to your selection. If the Module Menu is open and you want to close it, simply click Module Menu again.
At any point in time, you can always return to the beginning of the program by clicking Home in the upper left corner of the screen.
Video
There are a number of informational videos throughout this program. While viewing a video, you can pause the video by clicking 
. Click 
to continue playing video.
Note: the video controls for module opening videos can be accessed by rolling over the video image.
To adjust the volume of the videos, use the volume adjustment on your computer or speakers.
To return to a screen with a selection of videos after watching one video, click the Close button above the video player.
Additional Resources
At the bottom of each screen are two buttons:
- An Array of Resources
- Golden State Fruits & Veggies
Click these buttons to get additional information that corresponds to the module content. A new page will open with various resources and Web links. To return to the program, simply close the window.
Printing
When there is a document available for printing within a module, a Print button and icon will display. Click Print to view a Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF documents ensure that you will be able to view and print these documents in their original format regardless of what type of computer, browser, or operating system you use. In order to view, navigate, and print PDF documents, you must have or download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
